The Goldschmidt web grinder GW 110 +S, battery-powered by EGO, has now been honored twice in the US rail industry for its innovative technology and strong performance.
The efficient and emission-free web grinder GW 110 +S, capable of grinding both Thermit® and flash butt welds, recently won a Reader’s Choice Award 2025 of the US rail professionals’ magazine Progressive Railroading in the MOW (Maintenance of Way) Products category.
Earlier this year, in May 2025, the grinder received the Innovation Award from the Railway Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) during the Railway Interchange exhibition in Indianapolis, USA.
It addresses – together with all other battery-powered machines from the +S portfolio – one of the biggest challenges in track welding, reliable on-site power supply, with its interchangeable and high-performance battery from EGO. This makes the web grinder GW 110 +S not only powerful but also more sustainable and easier to transport, eliminating the need for heavy generators or complex logistics.
