Milestones

Goldschmidt Italia's history reflects a continuous commitment to the Italian railway sector. The company was founded in 1945 as Thermit Italiana S.r.l. in Milan. In 1950, it became part of the Goldschmidt Group. Goldschmidt became the sole shareholder in 1990, fully integrating the Italian entity into its global network. 

After relocating its headquarters to Rho in 2010 to support growth, the company changed its name from Thermit Italiana S.r.l. to Goldschmidt Italia S.r.l. in October 2025, aligning its identity with the global brand while reaffirming its longstanding expertise.
